First guesthouse opened in Th. Burunee

A guesthouse has been opened in Th. Burunee for the first time.

Burunee, which is isolated from other islands in the atoll, did not have a registered guesthouse until now. The island's first guest house, 'Villa Burunee' was opened on Thursday. The island residents warmly welcomed the first guests staying at the property.

Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom congratulated the island's residents on the opening of the guest house.

Guesthouse tourism has been flourishing in the Maldives for the past decade. Currently, there are 611 guest houses with a total room capacity of 10,696.
