COVID-19: Curfew enforced in Dhidhdhoo island

A curfew has been enforced in Ha. Dhidhdhoo due to the island's worsening COVID-19 situation.

The Dhidhdhoo Council Monday said that as Dhidhdhoo has been placed under the Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s monitoring status, the island's task force has decided to implement several measures to ensure the safety of the island's residents.

In this regard, gatherings and visiting households have been banned, and mask-wearing has been made mandatory. Parties, ceremonies, and sports events have also been prohibited. Additionally, shops and salons must be closed after 9 pm, and only delivery service can be offered between 9 to 10 pm. Hotels can provide dining-in services until 9 pm and takeaway and delivery service until midnight. Furthermore, a curfew will be in place between 9 pm and 4 am.

For grades below the fourth grade, in-class lessons have been suspended, and classes are being conducted online. Tuition classes have also been instructed to conduct classes online. Vessels that need to depart from Dhidhdhoo under necessary circumstances will only be allowed to do so with permission from the island council.
