President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday appointed Usthaz Mohamed Aneel to the post of State Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
Aneel is a senior member of coalition partner, Adaalath Party. He pursued higher education at the Islamic University of Madinah in 2012, where he attained his Bachelor in Islamic Shariah. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Islamic Studies programme at the Maldives National University (MNU).
Prior to his appointment, Aneel served as the head imam of Hithadhoo Island in Addu City.
