The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has said the first park in the Hiyaa neighborhood in Hulhumale Phase II would be opened in Ramadan.
HDC said they targeted to complete 85 percent of the park's first phase and open the park to the public in time for Ramadan this year, which falls on April 2.
HDC said the park is designed so that people of all ages can enjoy the space. The park will have seats and swings, an outdoor gym, and a plaza, in addition to playground equipment for children, said HDC.
HDC commenced work on the Hiyaa Park in September 2021. The main work carried out in the initial stages was planting trees and shrubs to make the area greener.
The Hiyaa Park is located in the empty lot between Hiyaa Tower 5 and 6. Since families began moving into Hiyaa flats in August last year, HDC has been working to establish essential services in the area. In this regard, shops, salons, and mosques have been opened in the area. The roads surrounding the towers have also been completed. Cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, and schools will soon be established in the area.
