Gov't seeks contractors to build hospitals

The Finance Ministry is seeking parties to construct hospitals in several islands under International Competetive Bidding (ICB) approach.

The Finance Ministry said the ministry was seeking contractors to build 30-bed hospitals under Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) assistance. Hospitals would be constructed in HDH. Hanimaadhoo, Sh. Milandhoo, N. Velidhoo, K. Thulusdhoo. Aa. Maamigili, V. Felidhoo, and Th. Vilufushi.

The Ministry said bidders must be listed members of the National Contractors Registry. International bidders must submit the documents as per clause 13 of ‘Construction Industry Contractor’s Regulation’ at the time of bid submission. International bidders will be responsible to ensure that they conform with required registration under ‘Construction Industry Contractor’s Regulation’, Foreign Investment Registration, and Foreign Direct Investment Policy requirements of Maldives prior to bid submission.

Bidders must pay USD 35,000 as bid security. Interested bidders must register with the Ministry of Finance for this project from April 5, 2022, to June 6, 2022.

The Health Ministry has announced that several tertiary hospitals will be constructed across the Maldives. Health Minister Ahmed Naseem told the Parliament that this includes 30-bed and 50-bed hospitals. The government also publicized the designs of the hospitals.
