Murdered Bangladeshi waiter's body sent home

The body of the Bangladeshi waiter murdered last Saturday has been sent to his country.

Maldives Police Service said the deceased's body was sent to Bangladesh on Thursday night. They said the investigation into his death is ongoing.

The waiter, who worked at Khanji Restaurant in Hulhumale', was killed by a Pakistani chef who worked at the same establishment. The chef, identified as Mohamed Abid, 26, went on the run after attacking the waiter with a large knife. He was arrested the next day from Hulhumale' Phase II. The Hulhumale Magistrate Court remanded him into custody for 15 days on Monday.
