A vehicle ban will be in effect in the Greater Male' Area for four hours on Eid-al-Fitr.
Male' City Council said only pedestrians would be allowed on the streets of Male' City between 04:00 pm and 08:00 pm on Eid day. The decision was made at a council meeting held Thursday.
The Council said the vehicle ban would not be implemented in Hulhumale' after considering complaints received by the public in previous years.
In recent years, vehicle-free windows have been implemented in Male' City on Eids and other such festivals.
