AirAsia resumes operation to the Maldives

Malaysian multinational low-cost airline Air Asia has resumed operation to the Maldives.

Air Asia suspended operation to the Maldives in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline has decided to resume flights to the Maldives following the re-opening of Malaysian borders post-pandemic on May 1. A

Maldives' main international airport, Velana International Airport's operator, Maldives Airports Company Limited, said AirAsia would be operating two weekly flights to the Maldives. The first flight since the resumption landed at VIA on Tuesday.
