Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has commenced the installation of water and sewerage facilities in B. Kendhoo.
According to MWSC, pipes and other materials needed for the project have been brought to Kendhoo island. Currently, pipe-laying work of the system's main network and the construction of the building that would house the water plant are ongoing.
The project's scope includes the construction of 5.26 km of water pipeline, establishing the main network, constructing an RO facility building, installing two RO plants and three water storage tanks, and installing water meters and water connections in households.
The Kendhoo sewerage system includes a 4.48-kilometer sewerage network, a 556-meter piping line, two pumping stations, and a sea outflow. Junctions will be installed in houses, and sewerage connections will provide sewerage services to the households.
Furthermore, generator sets, vehicles, and testing kits required for the operation and maintenance of the sewerage system will be provided under the project.
The Kendhoo water and sewerage project was contracted to MWSC by the Planning Ministry for MVR 56.24 million.
