Opposition Leader and Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom's Twitter account has been "verified".
The badge was given by the platform on Friday to indicate that President Yameen's Twitter account had been verified.
Yameen's Twitter account was created last month. However, he first tweeted from his account on the 4th of this month. In his first tweet, he posted a photo of the national flag and said he was proud to be a Maldivian. He has posted eight tweets so far.
The former president currently has 7,373 Twitter followers. The only account President Yameen has followed is the official Twitter account of his party, the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
