MP Rozaina wins MDP's Women's Wing Presidency

Meedhoo MP Rozaina Adam has been elected as the President of the main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s Women's Wing.

Rozaina was elected as the MDP Women's Wing President at the party's internal election held Saturday. Two candidates contested for the post: MP Rozaina and MDP's Youth Wing member Shafa'ath Ahmed Zahir.

Rozaina campaigned with Chairperson candidate Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail's 'Hingaalan' team, while Shafaa'ath was backed by his opponent, MP Imthiyaz Fahmy's campaigners. However, she ran her own campaign.

The party's Chairperson Election was also held on Saturday, which Fayyaz won by defeating MP Imthiyaz by a large margin.
