TCIL's Executive Director Atul Kumar Jain signed the agreement on behalf of the company, while State Minister Ahmed Adil signed on behalf of the Health Ministry.

The value of the hospital project is USD 57.2 million. The project will be financed through a credit scheme from Indian Exim Bank.

Under the project, 50-bed modern hospitals will be built in Villingili, Dhidhdhoo and Kudahuvadhoo, while a 30-bed hospital will be built in Alifushi.

The design of the hospitals awarded to TCIL today was previously awarded to a local company. The Health Ministry did not say why TCIL was later awarded the contract.
