A dangerous accident occurred in the dinghy jetty area of Hulhumale Phase II on Sunday afternoon, killing one.
Maldives Police Service said two people, both expatriates, were trapped between containers while trying to unload marble sheets from a container at the jetty area. Police received reports of the incident at around 3:30 pm. One had already passed away by the time he was rescued, and the other man is currently being treated at Hulhumale Hospital.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
Photos and videos showing the two people trapped between containers have been circulating on social media. Videos showed it took a significant amount of time to rescue the two trapped men.
