A man has been arrested in southernmost Addu City for allegedly exerting undue influence on a minor arrested in connection with the murder of Mohamed Zayan Moosa in the city.

Zayan, 21, was killed after a fight on the night of June 2.

Police said in a statement Friday said that a 37-year-old man had been arrested for exerting undue influence on a juvenile arrested in connection with the murder, obstructing the investigation and interfering with police duty and work.

The statement said that there are others who are obstructing the police investigation, and these cases will also be investigated. However, it did not say how the people were hindering the investigation.

A total of seven people, including two minors, have been arrested in connection with the murder of the youth in Feydhoo. The other arrested are between 18 and 28 years old. Some of the suspects have been remanded in custody pending trial, while the remand of some has been extended thrice.
