A case has been filed with Maldives Police Service (MPS) alleging that an Indian national employed at a local resort was murdered.
Indian media identified the deceased as 32-year-old Ravindhra Sahani,, from Jagadhury, India. His family claims he was murdered on December 31 after returning to the Maldives after a trip to India from December 10 to 14.
According to news reports, the news of Ravindhra’s death was reported to his family by his roommate, Shamboo, also an Indian national. Reports state that Ravindhra’s body has not yet been handed over to the family.
Maldivian authorities have not yet commented on the case.
