MPs attacked in separate incidents in Addu City and Male'

Two members of the Parliament from the main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) representing Addu City constituencies have been subjected to attacks in separate incidents.

MP Mohamed Nihad, representing Feydhoo constituency, was attacked near Feydhoo School in Addu City. Sources suggest that Nihad had engaged in an argument with some individuals before the attack. Nihad is currently receiving medical treatment at the Feydhoo Health Centre.

MP Ibrahim Shareef, representing Maradhoo constituency, was attacked inside the Manhattan Hotel in Male'. Shareef is also undergoing medical treatment.

Both incidents have been reported to the police, and investigations have been launched into the incidents.
