Feydhoo assault: 15-year-old remanded in custody

The 15-year-old arrested on Monday in connection to the death of a 21-year-old in S. Feydhoo has been remanded in custody.

Mohamed Zayan Moosa, 21, from Feydhoo was taken to Equatorial Hospital in Addu City after being injured in a fight last week. He died on June 2 while undergoing treatment.

Maldives Police Service said a 15-year-old boy was arrested under a court order on Monday in connection to the youth's death. When produced before the court, he was remanded in custody for ten days, the police said.

Earlier, a 16-year-old was also arrested in connection to the youth's death and was remanded in custody for ten days. Two others, 18 and 29, were also arrested for causing disruption to peace while the suspect was being detained. Another 29-year-old has also been arrested under a court order. They have been remanded in custody for five days.
