White alerts have been issued across the country due to bad weather.
The Meteorology Office said the alert will be in effect until Monday afternoon. The office said heavy rains and thundershowers with strong winds are expected during these hours. Gusts up to 45 mph may be experienced during showers.
Male' City has been experiencing heavy rain and strong winds since Sunday afternoon. The rain caused flooding in a large part of the city.
A Met official said the weather would be bad for the next four or five days. The weather is expected to start clearing over the weekend.
