Aasandha desks established in Kulhudhuffushi and Addu City

Aasandha desks have been established in Kulhudhuffushi and Addu City.

Speaking at a press conference at the President's Office on Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Miuwan Mohamed said the people wish for Aasandha services to be as accessible as possible. To achieve that, Aasandha desks have now been set up in Addu and Kulhudhuffushi, he said.

Miuwan said that during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's visits to the islands, people have been asking for the Aasandha services to be coordinated through desks at their respective islands. Miuwan assured that the service would be faster with the desks set up at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital and Addu Equatorial Hospital.

The Aasandha scheme was introduced during former President Mohamed Nasheed's regime to provide free medical treatment for upto MVR 100,000 for every citizen. President Abdullah Yameen's government expanded the service and arranged for unlimited medical treatment in government hospitals.

Aasandha was incorporated on March 1, 2015, as a 100 percent government-owned company.
