President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
Presidential Spokesperson Miuwan Mohamed confirmed to AVAS that the President would be traveling to the UK for the Queen's funeral. However, he did not give a specific date for the President's departure.
President Solih sent a message of condolences to the Queen's family following her death last Thursday night. In his message, the President said Queen Elizabeth was a shining example of national service with loyalty and competence.
The President also decided to lower the flag for three days in mourning of the Queen's death.
Queen Elizabeth's funeral will be held in London on the 19th of this month.
