Leaked videos: Nazim's passport released in August

The travel ban imposed on Nazim Abdul Sattar has expired, he has said.

The Parliament Speaker's brother's passport was seized under a court order on June 25, after an explicit video of him having homosexual relations with a Bangladeshi national was leaked on social media. He was charged and found guilty of sexual misconduct earlier this month.

Nazim, who is a lawyer by profession, on Thursday told AVAS that the order to seize his passport expired on August 24. Nazim said he was not aware of any travel bans against him at this time and that he could leave the country at any time if he wished to.

While Nazim has admitted to sexual misconduct with Bangladeshi national MD Alamgiri, a sentencing hearing is scheduled for today. The sentencing hearing will be held at 4:30 pm.
