Agreement signed to build Thalassemia Hospital in Hulhumale’

An agreement has been signed to build a specialized hospital for thalassemia patients in the Maldives.

The project was awarded to Meadow Asia and Chin Hin Group Berhad. The agreement was signed at a ceremony held on Tuesday night by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim on behalf of the Maldivian government, Roger Lim, CEO of the Chin Hin Group, and Stuart J. Venner Pack, CEO and MD of Meadow Asia signed the agreement on behalf of the contractors. The project is funded by Sinoma Industry Engineering.

A drawing of the three-storey hospital design was revealed at the ceremony. The video showed an emergency room, a children's play area and a canteen located on the ground floor of the building. The hospital will also feature a blood and organ transplant unit, a blood transfusion unit, a laboratory and a radiology department.

The establishment of a dedicated hospital for Thalassemia patients is a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
