The Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) has decided to extend the data collection period for the Male' area in the ongoing Census 2022.
MBS said the data collection period was extended in Male' and Hulhumale' due to a lack of enumerators required for the work, which has extended the time required to complete the work. Although originally planned to conclude the data collection by September 25, it will now continue until September 27.
4,300 enumerators have been recruited for the census, of whom 1,991 have been deployed in the atolls and 2,409 in the Male' area. The census is conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m every day.
The provisional results are scheduled to be announced on October 6, while the final results will be announced on October 20, National Statistics Day.
