The Coast Guard has detained a foreign fishing vessel illegally trespassing in Maldivian waters.
The Coast Guard received reports of an illegal foreign fishing vessel in the Maldivian waters at 11:26 am on Friday. Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said the Central Area Coast Guard vessel, Maafaiy launch, was deployed to the area following the report. The vessel was detained around 2:00 pm after it was spotted 15 nautical miles northeast of L. Isdhoomuli.
