An expatriate who went missing after a landing craft capsized has been found dead.
The landing craft, named 'Leo Pearl', was carrying five individuals and departed from R. Kudakurathu Resort en route to Male' before it overturned. According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the missing man was located motionless beneath the landing craft by Coast Guard divers. He is currently being transported to K. Kaashidhoo Health Centre.
The other individuals aboard the landing craft were rescued at sea in the early hours of Tuesday by "Sea Ambulance 21".
As adverse weather persists in the Maldives, seafarers are urged to exercise caution and remain vigilant during their travels.
