An area of over 91,000 square meters has been canvassed in search of a man who went missing while octopus hunting.
Shuraih Hassan, 21, went octopus hunting near K. Gulhufalhu on Friday. The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the young man from HDh. Kumundhoo was swept out to sea to the western side of the Vaadhoo sea. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and black shorts at the time of the incident.
MNDF said Coast Guard divers searched over 55,000 square meters by diving and 36,000 square meters by snorkeling. The man has not been found thus far.
