Rasdhoo hospital project's tender document sent to KFAED: Ameer

The tender document for the construction of a 50-bed hospital in AA. Rasdhoo has been sent to the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer has said.

Ameer made the statement in a written response sent to the Parliament addressing concerns raised by Thoddoo MP Hassan Shiyan regarding the development of the Atoll Hospital. The MP had inquired from the minister when the project would be announced and why handing over the project to a contractor was being delayed.

In his response, the minister said the tender document for the hospital project was sent to KFAED seeking no objection on August 12. The tender process will start once no objection is received, he said. The minister added that discussions with KFAED are ongoing on the loan agreement for the Rasdhoo hospital project.

Some residents of Rasdhoo have been criticizing the government on social media for the delay in implementing the hospital project.
