A man who went missing while fishing with two others has passed away.
The young man, identified as Ahmed Tholal, 24, of S. Hithadhoo Fehivina, went fishing in a dinghy vessel on Sunday morning and went into the water in search of fish. He was reported as missing to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) around 11:32 am. MNDF said the missing man was located underwater.
An official from Addu City's Addu Equitorial Hospital said a man was brought to the hospital's emergency room at 12:34 pm. AVAS has learned Tholaal has passed away, although it is not clear whether he died before or after he was taken to the hospital.
