For the first time in the history of the High Court of the Maldives, a bench of three female judges on Wednesday conducted a trial at the court.
A bench heard a case filed by Nazaki Aluminum Pvt Ltd against the Mauritius Commercial Bank. The bench comprises Judge Fathimath Faruheeza, Judge Huzaifa Mohamed, and Judge Dheebanaz Fahmy. The longest-serving judge on the bench, Judge Fathimath Faruheeza, presided over the hearing.
Faruheeza was appointed as a High Court judge on October 4, 2020. Huzaifa was appointed as a High Court judge on June 27, 2022, while Dheebanaz was appointed to the court on August 9, 2022.
