Velana International Airport (VIA) set a new record for flight movement on December 22.
A total of 228 movements were made at the airport on December 22, according to figures released by the Maldives Airports Company (MACL). These include 104 international movements, 104 domestic movements, and 20 general aviation movements.
This is a new record since the new VIA runway was put into service on October 6 this year. According to MACL, the previous highest flight movement was recorded on January 5, 2020, with 252 flight movements.
