The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced that flights departing from and arriving at Velana International Airport (VIA) may face delays due to heavy rains.
MACL today said the Maldives Meteorological Service's weather forecast predicts unfavorable weather conditions every day this week. This has led to some changes to flight schedules for this period.
MACL has also advised passengers to take precautions due to the bad weather.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that 20 islands across the Maldives have been severely affected by the heavy rains. The rain has also caused significant flooding in a large part of Male' CIty yesterday.
