Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has decided to test the RTL bus ticket payment service using cash cards.
MTCC has decided to introduce a cash card payment option on RTL buses to make it easier for customers to use RTL bus services. A trial run for payments using cash cards will be held on January 1 and 2. According to MTCC, payments can be made using MasterCard and Visa contactless cards during this period.
The minibus fare within Male' is MVR 7 per ticket. QR Tickets for minibusses can be purchased using the RTL app and website. Paying for tickets with cash is also a payment option, although no change will be given on the buses if paying in cash. Bus cards and QR tickets can be used on RTL buses between Male', Hulhumale' and the airport, and within Hulhumale'.
The mini-bus service was launched on September 5 this year.
