The Civil Court concluded 2,917 cases last year, according to the court.
According to statistics released by the Civil Court, 5,050 cases were filed with the court last year. At the beginning of 2022, there were 2,740 cases pending from the previous year.
Of these, 2,917 cases were concluded in 2022. At the end of last year, the court had 4,873 cases pending. Of these, 977 cases have been pending for over a year.
Last year, the Civil Court issued 21,399 court orders. In addition, 19,956 court appearance orders were issued by the Civil Court.
By the end of 2022, the Civil Court had received over MVR 94 million and over US$ 8 million. The Civil Court received over MVR 1.4 billion debt-related cases concluded in 2022.
