Bring Yameen back to power to rid the country of Solih's 'menace': Abdul Raheem

The opposition PPM/PNC coalition's interim leader Abdul Raheem Abdulla has said that the only way to save the country from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's "menace" is to bring former President Abdullah Yameen to power.

Speaking at the conclusion of the PPM's Hope Conference on Saturday, Abdul Raheem said the country could only be saved from President Solih's menace by working hard and restoring power to President Yameen. According to Abdul Raheem, there is no area that has not been affected by President Solih's "menace" during his four years in office.

"[President Solih is] a menace to the country's independence. A menace to our sovereignty. A menace to religion," he said.

Abdul Raheem said there would be no way to stop the opposition movements after the Hope Conference. He described the government as "traitors" who took over the country and said and said the country must be saved from them.

Abdul Raheem added that the opposition movement and President Yameen would win the upcoming presidential election despite the challenges faced. He urged the public to make sincere dua after prayer to save the country from President Solih's danger.

The PPM/PNC coalition members have pledged to work as a unit to bring President Yameen back to power.

The main opposition's presidential candidate, President Yameen, is serving an 11-year prison sentence after being found guilty of money laundering and bribery last December. He will not be able to contest the September presidential election until a higher court quashes the Criminal Court's conviction against him.
