Male' City Council reduces fees charged for some services

The Municipal Services Committee of the Male' City Council has decided to reduce the fees charged for some services.

In this regard, the committee decided to reduce the fee charged for the use of Male' and Villimale' lagoons and harbors, berths and lagoon permits, and the price of boards issued for road work in Male' City.

The new price list has now been gazetted by the City Council. The council said the new prices are effective from today.

The city council has reduced the prices of some services while STELCO has filed a constitutional case in the High Court seeking to quash two rules formulated by the city council. STELCO's petition seeks to repeal City Council's policies on undertaking work on Male' City roads by either closing off the road or without, road excavation policies, as well as policies on carrying out work by removing the top of junctions.
