Former Vice President of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom), Ahmed Gais, has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
HDC's DMD post became vacant on September 4 last year, when then-DMD Ahmed Athif was appointed as the Managing Director. Several officials from HDC have confirmed Gais' appointment as the corporation's new DMD.
Gais resigned from his post as vice-president and member of the Broadcasting Commission on January 8 to campaign for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for the main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) 's presidential primary.
