A man was killed in an accident in R. Maduvvary on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Aslam, 40, the Secretary General of the Maduvvary Council. The police said the accident occurred when a pickup truck backing up hit Aslam on Sunday afternoon. Aslam died while receiving treatment at Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital.
A Madduvary resident said the pickup hit Aslam as it was backing up into the council office's garage. The source said Aslam was trapped between the vehicle and a wall due to the accident.
Police are investigating the accident.
