Fikuregge Dhirun opens opportunity to participate in naming new political party

The breakaway faction of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Fikuregge Dhirun, is presenting an opportunity for the public to participate in naming its new political party.

In a recent development, 12 MDP MPs supporting the Fikuregge Dhirun movement resigned from the party with the intention of establishing a new political party and fielding a candidate in the upcoming presidential election.

The movement has now opened the chance for individuals to propose names, along with details such as color and logo, for the new political party. A user-friendly Google form has been created to facilitate submissions, which will be accepted until 6:00 am on Sunday.

Additionally, a Zoom meeting has been scheduled for tonight to engage in discussions concerning the affairs of the emerging party.

During a previous press conference, Hulhudhoo MP Ilyas Labeeb confirmed that the team plans to submit the party registration form next week. He expressed confidence in gathering the necessary 3,000 signatures for the official registration of the new political party in the near future.
