Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO)'s Managing Director, Yoosuf Siraj, has been reinstated to his position following the completion of his suspension period.
On May 3, the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) suspended Siraj for a period of two weeks with pay for obstructing an investigation into the alleged sexual harassment case concerning a former senior WAMCO employee. The suspension was imposed after he made changes to the investigation committee the case despite being instructed not to play any role in the investigation.
Siraj, who was previously the Deputy Managing Director of WAMCO, was appointed as the MD following former WAMCO MD Adam Mohamed's transfer as the head of the Post Office. He was appointed to the post on September 1 last year, five months since the former MD's exit.
