Pakistani nationals arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into the Maldives

Four Pakistani nationals have been apprehended for attempting to smuggle drugs into the Maldives.

The suspects are currently under police custody in Dhoonidhoo Island. Following their appearance before the Criminal Court on Tuesday, the court remanded them into custody for a period of four days.

According to the court order, the four were arrested under suspicion of attempting to smuggle drugs. They were taken to the IGMH, where their bodies were scanned, revealing concealed drug-filled bullets.

According to police and customs statistics, Pakistan is known to be one of the primary sources of drug smuggling to the Maldives.
