Almost 3 kg of drugs recovered from apprehended Pakistanis

Four Pakistani individuals who were apprehended for attempting to smuggle drugs into the Maldives have been found to have been carrying a total of 2.9 kilograms of drugs.

The four individuals, who arrived in the Maldives by air, were arrested on May 30. Authorities have reported the recovery of 227 drug-filled bullets from the detainees.

Ten bullets weighing a total of 157 grams were recovered from Misbah Bibi, 32, while 80 bullets weighing 1.068 kg were recovered from Shahzad Hussain, 36. An additional 75 bullets weighing 909 grams were recovered from Naeem Thorig, 32, and 62 bullets weighing 756.3 grams from Hawar Hussain, 36.

The four suspects have been remanded in custody for 30 days by the Criminal Court. They have pled guilty to the charges.
