Japan-donated ambulances handed over to recipients

The Health Ministry has handed over ambulances donated by the Japanese government.

The eight ambulances donated by the Japanese government were handed over by Health Minister Ahmed Naseem and Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives Takeuchi Midori. These ambulances were allocated as follows: one each for HA. Hoarafushi Health Center, HA. Kelaa Health Center, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, Gn. Fuvahmulah Hospital, and Addu Equatorial Hospital, while two were designated for the National Ambulance Service established in Hulhumale.

The total value of these ambulances, as previously communicated by the Health Ministry, amounts to MVR 2,453,800. In addition to ambulances, the Japanese government also donated medical equipment such as advanced life support (ALS) equipment bags, oxygen cylinders, bag valve masks, and spinal boards.
