President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has emphatically stated that no one has been arrested for political reasons under his government.
Speaking at a campaign rally held at Sh. Milandhoo on Monday night, President Solih noted the peaceful and harmonious environment his administration has fostered in the country. He underscored that there have been no instances of political imprisonment or arrests of journalists during his presidency.
"We have not found it necessary to declare a state of emergency, and the progress of development projects has been rapid," President Solih said.
President Solih said the government has worked to bring development to the country by providing essential services to the people during the last five years. He added that the government's main objective is to bring about economic changes and fulfill its promises. The President also shared some of the ways he has envisaged his second term to bring about economic changes in addition to the current economic progress.
