Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed has condemned an arson attack that targeted a campaign venue in GDh. Madaveli, where a scheduled event for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was set to take place.
Nasheed expressed his disapproval of the incident through a tweet, stating that individuals should not face arrest and properties destroyed in connection with elections.
The fire caused various damage to the venue, with local residents suggesting that it was ignited in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police said they received reports of the incident early on Tuesday. No one was injured in the incident, and no arrests have been made thus far, police said.
President Solih arrived in Madaveli on his campaign tour this morning.
