PPM-PNC presidential candidate commits to uninterrupted development

The PPM-PNC presidential candidate, Male' Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has said that he would not stop any development work implemented by any government if he is elected president.

Muizzu today traveled to Haa Dhaalu atoll on his first campaign tour to the atolls.

Meeting residents of Hanimaadhoo island, Muizzu acknowledged the ongoing development projects in various islands, including Hanimaadhoo. He assured that he would honor the progress of such projects, emphasizing his belief that obstructing development contradicts his ideologies.

“The PPM is a party of development. We are an embodiment of a developmental ideology,” Muizzu said.

The presidential hopeful further said the people of Hanimaaadhoo wished for the urgent development of the island's hospital and a system where fish caught by local fishers can be brought to the island. If he is elected, he will arrange to fulfill both needs, he pledged.

Muizzu added that the manifesto prepared by the main opposition leader, former President Abdulla Yameen prioritized the development of the fishing industry. Therefore, he will give high priority to fostering this industry during his administration, he said.

Muizzu was accompanied by his running mate and Faresmathoda MP Hussain Mohamed Lateef, PNC President Abdul Raheem Abdullah, and PPM Parliamentary Group Leader Ahmed Saleem.
