Former MP Alhan Fahmy's passport has been seized.
The passport of former MP Alhan Fahmy has been seized in relation to an active police investigation.
The details of the investigation have not been disclosed by the police.
It is worth noting that Alhan was previously summoned to the police for questioning for allegedly laundering large sums of money by running a fraudulent investment scheme through a company where he owns shares. The scheme was run in violation of financial securities laws and regulations in the Maldives. However, Alhan has strongly refuted these allegations and continues to assert his innocence.
