Adhaalath Party warns against unauthorized color use in campaigns

The Adhaalath Party has warned the PPM-PNC Progressive Coalition against using the party's colors in the campaign of their presidential candidate, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

When Dr. Muizzu arrived in Fuvahmulah City on Saturday on a campaign visit, some individuals believed to be founding members of Adhaalath Party were present among the crowds gathered to welcome him, donning green t-shirts, the official color of Adhaalath Party.

Referring to the incident, Adhaalath Party's Spokesperson and State Minister at the Home Ministry, Ali Nizar, said the use of Adhaalaths' colors in Muizzu's campaign had been noticed and that the move is strongly condemned by the party.

"This is prohibited under the General Election Act, and I call on the Election Commission to put a stop to this," Nazeer said.

At the campaign rally in Fuvahmulah later that same evening, an individual who is believed to be a member of the Adhaalath Party's Advisory Council claimed that the senior members had decided to endorse President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for re-election against the spirit of the party's ordinary members.
