Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the PPM-PNC presidential candidate, has declared his intention to counteract the threats to the Maldives' independence posed by the current government's foreign policy.
Speaking at a campaign event at Raa Ungoofaaru on Tuesday, Muizzu said President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's foreign policy has compromised the Maldives' national interest.
Elaborating further, Muizzu said the country's independence and interests should be most protected instead of focusing solely on development projects. He criticized the incumbent government's actions that put the country's independence in jeopardy.
Muizzu assured that foreign troops would not be allowed to remain in the Maldives under his leadership. He reiterated that he would continue ongoing development projects, expedite their completion, and focus on improving the lives of Maldivian citizens.
