The PPM-PNC presidential candidate, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to introduce a retirement allowance with special benefits designed specifically for resort employees.
Speaking at a campaign rally held at L. Gan on Sunday night, Dr. Muizzu said a special law would be drafted in collaboration with industry leaders and stakeholders to provide a retirement allowance to resort employees. He said the scheme would provide a retirement package to the employees and would benefit both the industry operators and the employees.
Highlighting the PPM-PNC's commitment to improving the lives of resort employees, Dr. Muizzu said special housing units for resort workers will be constructed in various regions of the country under his leadership.
Furthermore, Dr. Muizzu emphasized the importance of enabling resort employees to spend more time with their families. His government aims to facilitate this by introducing flexible leave policies, where three months of accrued off days will grant employees an eight-day leave, in addition to annual leave and school holidays. Necessary legal changes will be implemented to make these policies a reality.
Dr. Muizzu further pledged to bring about a positive change in the salaries of skilled workers such as photographers working in resorts. He also promised to establish language schools for resort employees in three regions of the country as well as a modern hotel school.
