The PPM-PNC presidential candidate, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has resumed his campaign trips to the atolls.
Dr. Muizzu advanced to the second round of the presidential election after emerging as the leading contender in the initial round with 46 percent of votes. In the second round slated for September 30, he will face President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who placed second with 39 percent of votes.
Dr. Muizzu's campaign tour recommenced with a visit to Alif Alif Atoll and will include stops in Alif Dhaalu Atoll before returning to the capital city, Male. His itinerary includes visits to Aa. Bodufulhadhoo, ADh. Feridhoo, Hangyameedhoo, ADh. Omadhoo, ADh. Kunburudhoo, ADh. Dhangethi, ADh. Dhigurah, ADh. Mandhoo, and ADh. Fenfushi. He is accompanied by Maldives National Party (MNP) President Mohamed Nazim, PNC President Abdul Raheem Abdullah, former Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Mahibadhoo MP Ahmed Tariq, and Felidhoo MP Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed.
